Dulce Maria is a sweet-natured 5-year-old whose father sends her to religious private school after
her mother’s untimely death. At the school, all the nuns love little Dulce Maria, especially a novice named Cecilia.
Dulce Maria is very happy to hear her father is returning to Mexico after a two-year absence, but is most downcast when he
appears with a fiancee on his arm. Nicole is very frivolous and considers Dulce Maria an obstacle in her plan. The little
girl decides to play Cupid, because she is convinced that her father belongs with Sister Cecilia. When a romance between them
develops, Cecilia finds herself torn between her religious vows and the new love she has found with Dulce Maria’s father.
