Barbara Greco de Elizalde/Rebeca Sanchez (main antagonist/villain) Nicked named "La Hiena"
(The Hyena) by the employees of the Elizalde family, Barbara Greco was hiding a dark past of murder, deceit, and sabotage.
She remained innocent in the eyes of the Elizalde family and quickly rose to a high position in the family's dairy business,
Grupo Lactos. She murdered Montserrat Elizalde, fernanda's mother and in fear of being discovered, had
the youngest child Lili Elizalde locked up in an asylum.Lili overheard Barbara and Artemio talking about killing Fernandas
mother. Barabaramarried Gonzalo Elizalde as part of a long-term plan to destroy the entire family, and was responsible for
the false accusations of Eduardo Juarez, which lead to his departure and subsequent quest for revenge. Barbara was also involved
in an affair with Damian Gallardo, her accomplice, who courted and married Fernanda. While Barbara's actions were dark
and evil, she was simply the pawn of a much more powerful and evil mastermind. As the story unfolds, we learn that Barbara
as a child was a victim of abuse. In a flashback, we learn that at a very young age she burned her parent's house while
they were inside. Barbara and Artemio crossed paths when Artemio helped her get out of jail. At the age of 15, Artemio abused
her and that's how she got pregnant. She never met the baby after giving birth. Artemio told her the baby died when in
fact the baby survived. Aurora (Barbara's daughter) reappears when she starts a relationship with Santiago. Barbara later
finds a handkerchief with the initials "R.S.", meaning Rebeca Sanchez (Barbara's real identity, the handkerchief
was given to her by Artemio) she suspects she is her daughter but Artemio later makes her suspect that Aurora is his mistress
and that Artemio sent Aurora to spy Barbara. So, to fight back, Barbara convinces Camilo to rape her. Barbara finds Camilo
and Aurora in bed and bans Aurora from the Elizalde household (by forcing an agreement), promising she would not tell Santiago
what happened, if Aurora left forever. Later, Barbara finds out from a witch (Barbara had taken Aurora to see this witch in
order to get more information about her) that the handkerchief belonged to Aurora's mother, Barbara herself. Barbara swears
revenge on Artemio. She finds Aurora and tries to separate her from Santiago. Her plans are ruined when Artemio kidnaps Liliana
(Fernandas sister). Barbara makes a deal with Artemio and Liliana is given back to Barbara. But, Aurora goes to Santiago.
As this happened, Gonzalo and the entire Elizalde family find out about Barbara's crimes. Aurora decides to confront Artemio
and Barbara. Aurora tells them that she does not want to be part of their life, that she never wants to see them again, and
she leaves. As she leaves, Barbara pleads to Artemio not to let her leave, but he lets her leave. Barbara takes out a gun
and shoots him in the head, killing him instantly. Later, cops are in Artemio's mansion and are questioning Barbara, after
being asked "Did he commit suicide?", Barbara says, "No, I killed him". Barbara goes to jail where she
is sentenced to 235 years for her crimes and she is to spend 60 years in jail as required by law and only then is she allowed
to leave prison under any other circumstances. All she had left was Aurora, and as a desperate move, she burns herself in
order to force Aurora to be part of her life. Unfortunately Barbara survived, and on the last scene, she receives a letter
from Aurora. In that letter, Aurora says: "It's your grandchild, I don't have the right to deny him to you.
His name is Santiago. I'll never speak badly of you to him, I want my son to have a clean soul. As the years go by, wherever
I live, I'll let you how my son is doing. I'll send you pictures. That's all I can do, I don't know if it's
enough but that's all my heart can give you. Aurora". We then see a monstrous-looking Barbara, on her knees
crying, alone in a dark jail cell.
